Etsiskelin toita cruisereilta taalta Australiasta kasin. Www.cruisecrew (loppua en muista) vaatii liittymisesta maksun, ja niin tuntuvat muutkin alan firmat tekevan.

Onko kellaan kokemusta tyonteosta jollain vastaavalla aluksella taalla? Mikali liittymismaksun maksaa, miten luotettavaa tyonsaanti on? Enta palkkaus ja muut tyon hyvat etta huonot puolet?

Kokemuksia vastaanotetaan ja odotellaan....:)

Oleppa varovainen niiden firmojen kanssa.  Aussivalittajista en tieda varmuudella sanoa mitaan ja/tai niiden luotettavuudesta, mutta menneena vuotena yksi tallainen  firma oli Canadassa ja ilmoitteli aussilehdissa.  Varmuudella tiedan, etta yksi aussi chefi lahetti sinne $100 AU ja resumekset, eika sen jalkeen kuulunut mitaan tai kukaan ei ottanut yhteytta.  Kaveri meni paikalliseen Centrelinkkiin ja kertoi tarinansa siella tyonvalittajalle ja tyonvalittaja sanoi, etta sama valitysvirma on kerannyt paljon rahaa auseista, eika ole Canadalainen yritys, vaan paapaikka on Nigeria.  

Kannattaa tarkastaa ensin soittamalla ja mahdollisesti joltakin tunnetulta tyonvalittajalta saa infoa.

Muista vaan, että noilla kansainvälisillä risteilyaluksilla työnteko on melkoisen kovaa ja hakijoita niin paljon, että työnantajalla on vara valita ja pitää vain tehokkaimmat - siksi 90 päivän koeaika.  
Yleensä 6 kuukauden sopimus ja töitä 7 päivää viikossa ja 10 - 12 tuntia päivässä.

Laivalle pääseminenkään ei ole ihan ilmaista vaikka välitystoimisto ei mitään laskutakaan (työnantaja maksaa heille), sillä kuluja on ennen töiden aloittamista lääkärintarkastusten, röntgenkuvien, huumetestien, viisumin ja jopa lentolipun hankkimisessa ja sitten voit vielä joutua maksamaan jotain uniformuistakin.

How to Apply

To apply for a position on board a Luxury Cruise Liner please e-mail or fax a copy of your resume with a brief cover letter. For more information on assembling a professional resume please see the Permanent Recruitment section on our website

Should your background and skills sets meet company requirements we will then contact you for an interview. Cruise Line interviews are usually held in bulk once or twice per annum. All successful candidates are then placed into a ?gap? pool until a ship assignment comes available. It can usually take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months for candidates to be placed.

Once a job offer had been made, a Letter of Employment (LOE) is issued and then the fun starts!


What you need to know when you secure your position

Medical
You will be subject to pay for a pre-medical examination and drug testing before employment. The cost for this examination will vary, as you will have to pay for the exam, pathology and x-rays all separately. The approximate cost is $350.

Visa
To work on board Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. ships you are required to have a US C1D (Seaman?s) Visa. The cost is the current equivalent to $100 USD.

Travel
For most Crew and Staff, joining airline tickets are at their own expense. Upon successful completion of their first contract, return airline ticket will be provided from the company.

Probationary Period
There is a standard 90-day probationary period. This gives the company time to evaluate you as well as you evaluating the company. If you should fail this 90-day probationary period you will be released from employment and sent home. If you should decide to resign, you must give a minimum of 2 weeks notice. You will also be responsible to pay and obtain your own airline ticket home.

Uniforms
All company logo items are provided for you. Some uniform items must be purchased once you are on board, including company approved safety shoes.

Onboard
All meals and accommodation are provided at no charge. Most Crew and Staff positions have shared occupancy cabins, usually with someone from the same department. The cabins consist of bunk beds, two small closets, small desk area with a couple of drawers you can paddle lock, small bathroom, TV/VCR and beverage fridge.

Ship Assignments
Contracts are usually 6 months in length. Most positions are required to work 7 days a week, approximately 10 hours per day.

Training
All Crewmembers are required to attend all shipboard training. Strict adherence to all rules and regulations is a must! It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the vessels rules and regulations and to understand and participate in assigned safety training and drills. Plan for the first several weeks to be the toughest!
